Kristallographie

Kompakte Behandlung der interdisziplinären Wissenschaft Kristallographie basierend auf der Symmetrie- und Strukturlehre. Nach Einführung in die Kristallmorphologie und die Raumgittertheorie werden Kristallsysteme, Gittertypen und Symmetrieelemente leicht verständlich erörtert und anschließend die Ableitung der Punkt- und Raumgruppen gezeigt. Das Lehrbuch wendet sich an Studierende der Chemie und Geowissenschaften.

- 1971-1975: Studied crystallography in the Physics Department at Humboldt University in Berlin. 1975: Received a diploma in crystallography from Humboldt University in Berlin. 1975: Recipient of the HeinrichGustavMagnus Prize from the Department of Physics (Humboldt University). 19751976: Worked in the industry (quartz crystal development department, Berliner Glühlampenwerke). 19761980: Research assistant at the Academy of Sciences of the GDR, Central Institute for Inorganic Chemistry; from 1978 Central Institute for Organic Chemistry. 19811985: Research assistant at the Institute of Mineralogy, Free University of Berlin. 1983 Ph.D. (Mineralogy, Free University of Berlin). 19851988 Research associate at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Konstanz (SolidState Chemistry Research Group). 19881994 Research assistant at the Institute of Mineralogy, Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. 1992: Habilitation (qualification to teach mineralogy and crystallography). 1994: Appointed to the Chair of Mineralogy (succeeding Univ. Prof. E. Eberhard) at the Institute of Mineralogy, University of Hannover. October 2021: Retired.
